Two Specialty MGUs Join Forces

Concord Specialty Risk

Concord Specialty Risk (“Concord”) was established in 2008 by brothers Dave and Ken De Berry, providing innovative solutions for risks associated with mergers and acquisitions, uncertain tax positions, and litigation in the U.S. and Canada. After establishing itself as a pioneer and leader in its field, in early 2011 Concord was acquired by Ryan Specialty and joined the Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers family of managing general underwriters. In 2022, Concord merged with fellow Ryan Specialty Underwriting Managers member Ryan Specialty Transactional Risk International to form a new global entity, Ryan Transactional Risk. Ryan Transactional Risk’s North American division now carries forward the pioneering work of Concord, consistently innovating and leading the niche industry of transactional risk insurance.

Hunter George & Partners

Hunter George & Partners (“Hunter George”) was founded in 2013 by two experienced professionals in the mergers and acquisitions insurance industry to provide warranty and indemnity, tax, and contingent risk insurance solutions for the UK and European M&A markets. Hunter George gained a reputation as a leading innovator in the London transactional risk market for its entrepreneurial approach to risk evaluation, as well as its ability to create and enhance warranty and indemnity products. Additionally, Hunter George played a key role in the development of the UK and European tax insurance market. In 2016, Ryan Specialty acquired Hunter George, further strengthening its position in the transactional risk sector. Building on this success, in 2019 Hunter George expanded its presence and product offerings across Europe by opening an office in Barcelona, followed by offices in Madrid and Copenhagen. In line with this expansion, the company rebranded, first as RSG Transactional Risks Europe, then as Ryan Specialty Transactional Risks International and now, after joining forces with the US-based Concord Specialty Risk, as Ryan Transactional Risk.
